Batter Operator

Department: P4-Production

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Hourly Rate:  $18.25 to $20.25

FSLA Status: Non-Exempt

Job description includes but not limited to the following: The Batter/Breader Operator is to maintain and fill batter and breading machines, continuously checking the batter and breading percentages against quality specifications, customer satisfaction and company policies. Adhere to food safety, legality and quality and company policies.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  1. Inspect, Communicate and Discard
    1. Set up batter and breading machines equipment with proper ingredients according to specification sheets prior to the start of Production.
    2. Maintain proper breading and batter percentages according to specifications. Ability to make adjustments as percentages are not in line with standard.
    3. Accurate and timely completion of required documentation.
    4. Assist in minor repairs to the production line.
    5. Assist in the fryer set-up according to Fryer Operating Procedures. Continuous checks on the fryer to determine if it is on-line.
    6. Communicates operational problems with Production Supervisor and/or maintenance.
  2. Additional Responsibilities
    1. Acts as a backup in the absence of the Line Leader.
    2. Work area maintained in a safe and clean environment at all times.
    3. Coordinate work duties with Production Supervisor when there is down time
    4. Assists Line Leader with her/her daily functions.
      1. Other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
      2. To perform any other job function within packaging as directed by a lead or supervisor.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and will be loud in the plant.
