Transportation Coordinator

Department:  Warehouse

Reports to:  Transportation Manager

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt

Brief Job Description:
The individual will be primarily responsible for coordination of and administration for Great American Snacks’ shipments and inbound raw materials. The individual will be responsible for data entry, filing and dispatching of freight. The individual will work closely with the Transportation Manager to keep costs in line and mitigate cost in unpredictable situations. Perform job duties adhering to quality specifications, food safety, and legality and company policies.

Responsibilities Include:

• Successfully schedule delivery drivers
• Assist Transportation Manager to meet or exceeded budgetary goals and expectations
• Consistently deliver high quality service to customersgrams
• Knowledge of operating and complying with DOT guidelines
• Positive Communication skills
• Flexible and Adaptable to a wide variety of situations
• Work in a fast paced environment
• Strong Organization and computer skills
• Expedite the daily dispatch of company route drivers and ensure the scheduled departure and delivery times are met
• Manage the coordination of truck, including the transporting of items to and from service vendors, to expedite the processes and maximize equipment
• Complete all required reports and documents on a daily basis as needed
• Handle customer service issues and provide resolutions

Job Requirements:

• Computer literate with above average skills in Word, Excel, Outlook and typing skills
• Proven ability to thrive in a high stress fast paced environment
• Experience in database tracking, report management, filing and organizing records

Preferred but not required: Experience in a transportation environment with specific knowledge of, temperature requirements, load manifests, PC miler, tendering, fuel surcharge factors and national laws and regulations.
