Human Resource Coordinator

Department:  Human Resources

Reports to:  Human Resource Director

Statement of Job:
Position supports the Human Resources Department in the efficient and effective administration of employee services and programs, including orientation, employee records, and employee functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Employment/Recruitment

  • Maintain accurate employee rosters and records.
  • Coordinate job award process.
  • Maintain orientation materials and coordinate orientation of new employees.
  • Process employee identification badges.
  • Create and maintain employee files and applicant flow records.
  • Maintain employee records in Paycom.

Administrative Support

  • Prepare hourly performance appraisal forms and distribute to appropriate supervisors for processing. Track and follow-up to ensure appraisals are completed on a timely basis.
  • Prepare hourly disciplinary actions for processing through appropriate supervisors. Track and follow-up to ensure disciplines are processed in a timely basis.
  • Complete payroll administration duties.
  • Actively brand Great American Snacks in the community, and coordinate with community vendors.
  • Manages employee events from start to finish, including ordering cakes and flowers for retirements, and employee life events.
  • Process unemployment compensation, wage and employment verification requests .
  • Maintain current notices on plant bulletin boards.
  • Maintain HR supplies, forms and print requests.
  • Process and track employee leave of absence requests.
  • Coordinate employee recognition activities.
  • Coordinate Educational Reimbursement Program.
  • Generate, track, and maintain monthly turnover analysis information and other employment metrics.
  • Track invoices for department budgeting purposes.
  • Benefit administration – Medical, dental, vision, and life. Distribute benefit applications, collect and submit to proper carriers. Participate in open enrollment by providing support during presentations. Communicate with carriers on a need basis

This position requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to maintain the integrity of personnel information, as well as complete confidentiality of information to maintain the credibility of the department.  Position requires initiative and concentration to coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with interruptions. 

Interfacing with employees and management in a courteous, helpful manner is critical. The position requires diplomacy and tact, while managing conflict.

Education and/or Experience

Education: 
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources preferred or similar and/or 5 years of administrative experience, with a minimum of 2 years experience in Human Resources. 

Experience:
Demonstrated interpersonal skills are necessary to interface with work force from varying work disciplines and variety of cultural backgrounds.  Attention to detail and accuracy are critical for efficient, accurate and timely processing of information.  Good communication skills are necessary to present information in a clear, concise manner.  Strong administrative and organizations skills are needed to administer multiple projects and priorities.  Essential computer skills include intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Outlook.
