Great American Appetizers Earns Private Label Buyer Magazine's Category Colonel Award for Third Consecutive Year
Great American Appetizers has earned the top spot in the Frozen Snacks category of Private Label Buyer Magazine's Category Colonel Awards for 2010. The company also received this honor in 2008 and 2009. Private Label Buyer Magazine, an industry leading publication, developed the Category Colonel Awards program in 2001 to spotlight private label industry suppliers who excel in their service to the retail community.   Award recipients are determined via a ballot process where retailer representatives write in their choice for suppliers who have "significantly contributed to the development of their store brand programs by providing quality products, value, and outstanding customer service." Given that all votes are write-ins, winning the category is truly an achievement.   "Being recognized as a best-in-class private label supplier is a testament to our products, our processes, our people, and our commitment to serving our customers as a va...

Northwest Food Processor's Association
This week we are attending the Northwest Food Manufacturing and Packaging Expo in Portland. This event is the largest regional food processing trade show in North America. It will attract nearly 4,000 food industry professionals from across the country.   The City of Nampa is participating with the Boise Valley Economic Partnership in exhibiting at the show. With our long history of agricultural production, food processing has grown to be a cornerstone of our economy. With companies like JR Simplot, Amalgamated Sugar, Sorrento Lactalis, XL Four Star Beef, and Great American Appetizer already in Nampa, we believe there is opportunity to attract additional processors to the area.   In addition, we think we could attract any number of companies that supply or purchase from these firms. During the recent economic downtown, food processing has been one of the few stable and expanding segments of our economy.   Visit us at Booth 747, January 18-20, 2010 at the Oreg...
